Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be in written notification and addressed to the symposium secretariat by fax or e-mail, cancellations by phone will not be accepted. The payment will be refunded for the cancellations before 15 June 2007. After this date no refunds will be made.

 ISTANBUL CLASSICS (Half Day)  09 July 2007 (Monday)

Tour starts at 14:00 after lunch for a half day İstanbul Classics Tour (4 Hours)

Tour of "Sultan Ahmet Center", the heart of the "Old City" from where the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires were ruled.

Hagia (St.) Sophia, one of the greatest marvels of architecture, constructed as a basilica in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian.

Blue Mosque, facing Hagia Sophia, famous with its blue Iznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet.

 Hippodrome, center of sportive (chariot races, athletics) events and political activities of the old city. Obelisk of Theodosius, Serpentine Column, German Fountain of Wilhelm II are the monuments decorating Hippodrome.

Grand Covered Bazaar, most attractive shopping center and biggest "souk" in the world with nearly 4000 shops selling antiques, jewellery, gold, carpets, leatherware and souvenirs.

Transfer to the hotel at the end of the tour.

 OTTOMAN RELICS (Half Day)  10 July 2007 (Tuesday)

Tour starts at 14:30 for a half day Ottoman Relics Tour
(4 Hours).

Tour of "Sultan Ahmet Center", the heart of the "Old City" from where the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires were ruled.

Topkapi Palace, imperial residence of Ottoman Sultans exhibiting Chinese porcelain,Treasury, weapons, calligraphy section etc...Harem section is not included in the program and is due to extra entrance fee if requested.

Suleymaniye Mosque, masterpiece of Sinan, the chief architect of the Ottoman Empire, built in the name of Suleyman The Magnificent during the 16th. century, considered as the best amongst the imperial mosques.

Transfer to the hotel at the end of the tour.

Day 1

Early morning transfer from hotel to the airport for flight to Kayseri.
Meeting at the airport and drive to Cappadocia. Visit to :

DEVRENT VALLEY : Walk through this amazing valley where different fairy chimney formations can be seen.

PAŞABAĞLARI (Monks' Valley) : The Paşabağ Vineyard is commonly known as Monks' Valley because of the number of Monks lived there.

AVANOS : Watch the local craft of pottery making with the ancient technique and even try it yourself. Lunch.

GÖREME OPEN-AIR MUSEUM : Visit the churches, chapels and monasteries carved into the fairy chimneys and see the amazing frescoes from the 10th-13th centuries.

PIGEON VALLEY : Panoramic view point. See pigeons and and learn their story of helping people. Some examples of sending messages and fertilizing grapes.

UÇHİSAR CASTLE : Highest point in the region. Complete your day with a spectacular display of colors as the sun sets over this beautiful valley.

Dinner and overnight at a 4* hotel.

Day 2

Departure after breakfast for a full day tour. Visit to:

KIZILÇUKUR : Visit the churches of Üzümlü and St. Nichlitas. The valley holds different colors and types of rock formations such as cones, mushrooms and cap pillars. Walk down to the valley of Çavuşin.

VILLAGE OF ÇAVUŞİN : Visit to rock-cut dwelling and stone houses. Lunch.

KAYMAKLI UNDERGROUND CITY : 8 levels of missionary school, kitchen, chamber's storage rooms.

ÇATALKAYA : Exploring the rock formation called "the father, mother and son" with the view of Erciyes Mountain.

Evening transfer Kayseri Airport for flight to İstanbul. Arrival to Istanbul Airport
approx. at 10.00 p.m. on July 13, 2007.

Day 1

Transfer to the airport from hotel for flight to Izmir.
Meeting at the airport and drive to Pergamum, where different healing methods like therapy with music and sound of water were first used. Visit to Aesculapium, ancient medical center built in the name of Aesculapis, "God of Medicine". Lunch and continue to Pergamum Acropolis. Visit Athena and Trojan Temples, Temple of Zeus, Temple of Dionysos, Gymnasium of Youth, Odeon, Library, Agora, Great Theatre and Roman Bath.

Transfer to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight at a 4* Hotel.

Day 2

Departure after breakfast for Ephesus, one of the "Seven Churches of Revelation".
Visit to St. John Basilica and the Temple of Artemis, one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World". Last abode of Virgin Mary at Mount Solmissos and lunch at Selcuk. Visit to the old Greco-Roman city of Ephesus, Marble Street, Odeon, Bouleterion, Temple of Hadrian and Serapis, Agora, Library of Celsus, Great Theatre, Double Church, Arcadian Way, Gate of Magnesia.

Transfer to Izmir Airport for flight to Istanbul. Arrival to Istanbul Airport approx. at 10.00 p.m.
